Maison Bonnefoy : woven through generations

Discover every stitch of our craftmanship.

Since its founding, Maison Bonnefoy has woven a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. Established in 1940 by Jean-Marie Bonnefoy as a small artisan workshop, the company expanded with his son, Marc Bonnefoy, who in 1981 gave the business its full corporate identity, while staying true to the original values of the Maison. Today, under the leadership of Chloé Bonnefoy, Jean-Marie's granddaughter, Maison Bonnefoy continues to stitch its legacy with innovation, without ever dropping a stitch in its commitment to quality and authenticity.

Maison Bonnefoy proudly holds a double certification from both the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Trades and Crafts—a rare recognition that illustrates the fine balance between artisanal heritage and entrepreneurial spirit, and the uniqueness of its textile expertise.

A unique expertise

Maison Bonnefoy is more than just a company: it's a handcrafted story, threaded with heritage and trust. Since 1940, the house has embodied a love of fine craftmanship, passed down through three generations with pride and passion. Every piece is brought to life through meticulous in-house expertise: from the careful selection of yarns, dyed by European spinners in France, Germany, and Italy, to the hand-finished touches added by our skilled seamstresses.

What makes Maison Bonnefoy truly one-of-a-kind is its rare mastery of two knitting techniques. The Raschel looms, vintage mechanical machi,es requiring extreme precision from the very first step, called warping, where hundreds of threads are carefully aligned and tied together to form the foundational roll for knitting.

To this traditional skill is added the know-how of modern "flatbed" electronic machines, which enable seamless, integral knitting. This double threaded know-how reflects our commitment to precision and a wide palette of techniques, knit together across generations.

A meticulous process

Each knitted piece is then carefully handled and refined by our artisans through a series of dedicated steps.

At Maison Bonnefoy, every creation takes time and care, a deliberate choice that favors quality, durability, and the beauty of a well-executed gesture. Behind each knit lies the rigor of carefully chosen materials, respect for artisanal craft, and know-how passed downwith patience. For years, Maison Bonnefoy has been commited to responsible practices: using natural fibers, organic cotton, and recycled yarns made in France, threads of meaning that enhance every creation and naturally define its worth.

Each generation adds its own stitch to the tapestry, ensuring Maison Bonnefoy's unique expertise and its enduring family spirit.

Today, this cherished legacy is kept alive by a tightly-knit team of a dozen passionate individuals, guided by a warm family spirit. Together, they proudly continue to weave the Maison Bonnefoy story with heart, with hands, and with heritage.
